Healthy Chinese Shrimp Stir Fry

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 pounds shrimp
  • 2 pieces bell peppers
  • 1 head broccoli
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions:

  1. Clean and devein the shrimps, set aside. Chop the bell peppers and broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large frying pan or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the garlic and stir briefly until fragrant, then add the bell peppers and broccoli. Stir fry for about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the shrimp to the pan, stirring frequently until they are cooked through and pink, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey and cornstarch together until smooth. Pour the sauce over the stir fry, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
  6. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  7. Serve hot with a side of steamed rice or noodles.
