
French Onion Soup Gratinee

Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 medium, finely chopped onions
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup prefer red wine wine
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 sliced day-old baguette
- 2 cups, shredded gruyere cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat, add the onions and cook until they are soft and caramelized.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute, then stir in the flour until blended.
- Slowly pour in the wine, followed by beef broth and bring the soup to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and brush the baguette slices with olive oil on both sides.
- Bake the slices until they are golden brown, about 10 minutes.
- Spoon the soup into ovenproof bowls, top with toasted baguette and shredded cheese.
- Place the bowls on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 15 minutes.
