French Apple Tart

Ingredients:
- 6 whole Apples
- 1 cup Sugar
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 sheet Puff pastry
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 tbsp Apricot jam
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/4 inch slices. Toss the slices in a bowl with lemon juice and half of the sugar.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle, then place it on a baking sheet. Arrange the apple slices on the pastry and dot with the butter.
- Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the apples and the pastry edge. Beat the egg with a tablespoon of water and brush the pastry edge.
- Bake the tart for 45-50 minutes until the pastry is crisp and golden and the apples are tender. Warm the apricot jam with a tablespoon of water and brush over the apples and pastry edge to glaze.
- Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
