French Apple Tart

Ingredients:

  • 6 whole Apples
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 2 tbsp Apricot jam

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/4 inch slices. Toss the slices in a bowl with lemon juice and half of the sugar.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle, then place it on a baking sheet. Arrange the apple slices on the pastry and dot with the butter.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the apples and the pastry edge. Beat the egg with a tablespoon of water and brush the pastry edge.
  5. Bake the tart for 45-50 minutes until the pastry is crisp and golden and the apples are tender. Warm the apricot jam with a tablespoon of water and brush over the apples and pastry edge to glaze.
  6. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
