Fish Curry with Rice

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams Fish
  • 2 cups Basmati Rice
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 medium Tomato
  • 5 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • to taste Salt
  • for frying Oil
  • for garnish Coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Start by washing the fish and marinating it with a bit of turmeric and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, dice the onion, chop the tomatoes, and make a paste of the ginger and garlic.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds. When they start to splutter, add the diced onion to the pan.
  4. Once the onion turns golden brown, add the ginger-garlic paste. Cook until the raw smell goes away.
  5. Then, add the chopped tomatoes along with the coriander, turmeric, and red chili powder. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  6. Add the marinated fish to the pan. Cook on low heat until the fish is cooked through and the spices have permeated it.
  7. In another pot, cook the Basmati rice until it's nice and fluffy.
  8. Finally, garnish the fish curry with fresh coriander leaves and serve it hot with the Basmati rice.
