Exotic Sichuan Beef Stew

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Boneless beef chuck roast
- 3 pieces Star anise
- 1 tbsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 1/2 cup Soy sauce
- 1/2 cup Chinese rice wine
- 3 tbsp Honey
- 5 pieces Garlic cloves
- 1 piece Red chili pepper
- 2 inches Fresh ginger
- 4 cups Water
- 3 stalks Green onion
- 1 stalk Coriander
Instructions:
- Cut the beef into large chunks and season with salt and pepper.
- In a large pot, sear the beef on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, toast the star anise and Chinese five-spice until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, rice wine, honey, garlic, chili pepper, and ginger to the pot. Stir until combined.
- Return the beef to the pot and add water. Simmer for 1.5 hours.
- After simmering, add the chopped green onions and coriander. Cook for a further 30 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy the exotic flavors of Sichuan!
