Exotic Japanese Tamago Kake Gohan

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Japanese short grain rice
  • 3 cups Water
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Japanese mayonnaise
  • 2 Green onions
  • 1 sheet, shredded Nori seaweed

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Then, place the rice and water into a rice cooker and cook according to the cooker's instructions.
  2. While the rice is cooking, crack the eggs into a bowl and beat until smooth.
  3. Once the rice is done cooking, divide it among 4 bowls. Pour a raw beaten egg over the hot rice in each bowl, and gently mix until the egg is slightly cooked by the residual heat of the rice.
  4. Drizzle each bowl with soy sauce and a spoonful of Japanese mayonnaise.
  5. Finally, garnish each bowl with chopped green onions and shredded nori. Serve immediately while hot.
