Exotic Japanese Breakfast Seafood Okonomiyaki

Ingredients:

  • 100 gram flour
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 100 ml water
  • 1/4 cup bonito flakes
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • 2 stalks green onions
  • 100 gram octopus
  • 100 gram prawns
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • to taste mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp pickled ginger
  • for garnish seaweed strips
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, eggs, water and bonito flakes. Stir until smooth.
  2. Chop the cabbage and green onions. Fold into the batter.
  3. Chop the octopus and prawns into bite-size pieces. Fold into the batter.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Pour half of your batter into the skillet and spread into a circle with a spatula.
  6. Cook the okonomiyaki for about 5 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.
  7. Slide onto a plate, drizzle with oyster sauce and mayonnaise.
  8. Garnish with pickled ginger and seaweed strips.
  9. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your exotic Japanese breakfast seafood okonomiyaki!
