Exotic Japanese Breakfast Rice Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Japanese short-grain rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 3 piece Smoked salmon slices
  • 1/4 cup Pickled radish
  • 1 pack Salted seaweed strips
  • 1 piece Japanese egg omelette
  • 1 pack Fermented soybeans (Natto)
  • 1 tablespoon Sliced green onions
  • to taste Soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and will help your rice have the right texture.
  2. 2. Combine the rinsed rice and the 2 cups of water in a Saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
  3. 3. While the rice cooks, prepare the other ingredients. Layer the smoked salmon slices, pickled radish, salted seaweed strips and Japanese egg omelette over the rice.
  4. 4. Top with fermented soybeans and sliced green onions.
  5. 5. Drizzle with soy sauce to taste, and enjoy your exotic Japanese breakfast rice bowl!
