
Exotic Indian Rice Balls

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 2 cups Water
- 1 tbsp Indian spices (turmeric, cumin, garam masala etc.)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 bunch Fresh cilantro
- 1 bunch Fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup Flour
- 2 whole Eggs
- enough to deep fry Vegetable oil
Instructions:
- Wash the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Then, cook rice with 2 cups of water in a rice cooker or on the stovetop per package instructions, let it cool, and set aside.
- In a pan melt the butter and add the Indian spices. Let it simmer for a few minutes to release the flavors.
- Chop the fresh cilantro and mint leaves and add them to the pan, stir well into the spiced butter.
- Combine the spiced butter mixture with the cooked and cooled rice, ensuring every grain is coated.
- Form the rice into small, round balls and set aside.
- Beat the eggs in a bowl and put flour into a separate bowl.
- Dip the formed rice balls into the flour, then in egg, and set on a clean plate.
- In a deep pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil for deep frying.
- Once the oil is hot enough, fry the rice balls in batches until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove from oil, let them drain on kitchen paper and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
