Exotic Indian Prawn Curry

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams King Prawns
  • 2 pieces Onions
  • 2 pieces Tomatoes
  • 2 pieces Garlic Cloves
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Canola Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • for garnish Fresh Cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Clean and devein the prawns, keep them aside.
  2. Grind onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander seeds into a fine paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add the ground paste and sauté till golden brown.
  4. Add turmeric powder, chili powder, and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add prawns, tamarind pulp, salt and cover the pan. Cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Pour in coconut milk, mix well and simmer for about 5 minutes or until the prawns are cooked and the curry is at your desired consistency.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
  8. Serve it hot with steamed rice or flatbread of your choice.
