Exotic Indian Midnight Beef Curry

Ingredients:

  • 500 gram Beef chunks
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 piece inch Fresh ginger
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 200 ml Coconut milk
  • 1 Lime, for garnish
  • handful Coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. 1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are translucent and the aroma of the garlic and ginger fills the room.
  2. 2. Add the tomato, curry leaves, and spices. Cook until the tomato has softened and the spices have integrated well with the mixture.
  3. 3. Add the beef to the pot. Stir well to ensure each piece is coated with the spice mixture. Sear the beef on all sides.
  4. 4. Once beef is browned, pour in the coconut milk. Lower the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 45-60 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
  5. 5. Serve hot with a squeeze of lime and sprinkled coriander leaves on top. Ideal accompaniment would be basmati rice or warm naan bread.
