Exotic French Rice Pilaf for Midnight Cravings

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Long grain rice
  • 2 cups Chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp Salted Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 whole Onion
  • 1 tsp French Thyme
  • 1/2 bunch Parsley
  • 5 grams Black Truffle Slices

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and helps to keep the rice from becoming sticky.
  2. In a frypan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the rice to the pan and stir to coat the rice in the butter. Cook until the rice starts to look slightly translucent.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and sprinkle in the French thyme. Stir well and bring to a simmer then reduce the heat to low, cover and let cook for 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes, check the rice. All the liquid should be absorbed and rice should be fluffy. If not, place the lid back on and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and fold in chopped parsley and truffle slices. Serve immediately and enjoy your exotic midnight crave!
