Exotic French Rice Pilaf for Midnight Cravings
Servings: 2
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Long grain rice
- 2 cups Chicken broth
- 3 tbsp Salted Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 whole Onion
- 1 tsp French Thyme
- 1/2 bunch Parsley
- 5 grams Black Truffle Slices
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and helps to keep the rice from becoming sticky.
- In a frypan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.
- Add the rice to the pan and stir to coat the rice in the butter. Cook until the rice starts to look slightly translucent.
- Pour in the chicken broth and sprinkle in the French thyme. Stir well and bring to a simmer then reduce the heat to low, cover and let cook for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, check the rice. All the liquid should be absorbed and rice should be fluffy. If not, place the lid back on and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and fold in chopped parsley and truffle slices. Serve immediately and enjoy your exotic midnight crave!
