Comforting American Fish and Chips

Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces White Fish Fillets
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Beer
  • 4 large Potatoes
  • enough for deep frying Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the flour and the beer to make a thick batter. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 365 degrees F.
  3. Peel the potatoes and cut them into fries. Dry with a paper towel.
  4. Fry the potatoes in the oil until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  5. Dip the fish into the batter, letting the excess drip off.
  6. Fry the fish for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the fish and let it drain.
  8. Season the fish and chips with salt and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
