
Classic Southern Shrimp and Grits

Ingredients:
- 4 cups Water
- 1 cup Grits
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Pepper
- 1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 slices Bacon, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- In a medium pot, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the grits and reduce the heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until creamy.
- Stir in the butter, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper until well combined. Set aside and keep warm.
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Turn heat to medium-high. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes each side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Return the cooked shrimp and crispy bacon to the skillet and stir in lemon juice and chopped parsley.
- To serve, spoon the warm cheesy grits into bowls and top with the shrimp mixture.
