Classic Italian Fettuccine Alfredo

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Fettuccine Pasta
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1.5 cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • To Taste Salt
  • To Taste Black Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water.
  2. Add fettuccine and cook until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  3. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add heavy cream to the saucepan and bring to a simmer. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it fully melts into the sauce, then season with salt and pepper as per your taste.
  6. Drain the pasta, but save your pasta water.
  7. Toss the drained pasta in the sauce, adding the reserved pasta water a little at a time as needed to help loosen the sauce and help it stick to the pasta.
  8. Serve with additional parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of black pepper.
