Classic Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Beef sirloin
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 8 ounces Egg noodles

Instructions:

  1. Season the beef with salt and pepper. In a large pan, melt one tablespoon of butter and brown the beef. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, melt the remaining butter. Add onions, garlic, and mushrooms, and saute until tender.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir well. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and return the beef to the pan. Simmer on low heat while you prepare the egg noodles according to the package instructions.
  5. Serve the beef stroganoff over the egg noodles.
