Classic American Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Elbow Macaroni
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until the mixture becomes a uniform, thick paste.
  3. Slowly whisk milk into the butter and flour mixture. Continue to whisk until you create a smooth, thick sauce.
  4. Reduce heat to low, then stir in cheese until it's melted and the sauce is creamy.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Add your cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce. Stir until the pasta is fully coated in the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, and enjoy your classic American macaroni and cheese!
