Classic American Chicken and Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups Long-grain rice
  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) Cream of mushroom soup
  • 1.5 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 cups, shredded Cheddar cheese
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the uncooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and frozen vegetables. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Place the chicken breasts on top of the rice mixture in a baking dish. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of everything.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
