
Classic American Breakfast Fish Cake

Ingredients:
- 1 pound White fish fillets, boneless
- 2 medium Russet potatoes
- 1 cup Chopped onion
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/2 cup Bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- for frying Cooking oil
Instructions:
- Peel and grate the potatoes, then place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
- Heat a skillet on medium heat. Add the butter and melt. Add the onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- In the meantime, rinse the fish fillets, pat dry and chop into small pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the fish, cooked onions, grated potatoes, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix well until all ingredientsare combined.
- Form the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties until golden brown on each side, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Drain the fish cakes on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with tartar sauce or your favorite breakfast condiment.
