
Chinese Style Comfort Rice Balls

Ingredients:
- 2 cups Short grain rice
- 2 cups Water
- 200 grams Ground pork
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 3 stalks Scallions
- 1 teaspoon Ginger
- 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
- to taste Salt
- to taste White pepper
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and helps the rice balls to not stick.
- Cook the rice according to the rice cooker instructions or on the stovetop. Let it cool to handle.
- In a bowl, mix the ground pork with ginger, half of the scallions chopped, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper.
- Take a portion of cooled rice and flatten it in your hand. Add a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the middle and roll it into a ball. Repeat until all rice and pork has been used.
- Heat a pan with oil and fry each rice ball until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve hot with the remaining chopped scallions sprinkled on top.
