Chinese Style Comfort Fish Cakes

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams White Fish Fillets
  • 3 items Spring onions
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 2 items Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 item Egg
  • Sufficient for frying Vegetable Oil

Instructions:

  1. Chop the fish into chunks and place it in a food processor.
  2. Peel and finely chop the ginger and garlic. Add this to the processor.
  3. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornflour, and egg to the processor.
  4. Chop the spring onions finely and add them to the mixture in the processor. Blend until you get a smooth paste.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture into the pan and flatten with the back of the spoon.
  6. Fry the cakes until golden brown on both sides. Serve while hot.
