Chinese Steamed Egg Custard
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Water or Stock
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- 1 stalk Scallions
Instructions:
- Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them with a whisk until well beaten. Add water or stock to the beaten eggs.
- Strain the mixture into a heatproof dish.
- Prepare the steamer ready and bring the water to a boil.
- Once the water comes to a boil, place the dish into the steamer. Cover and steam over high heat for about 10 minutes. The easiest way to tell if it’s done is to use a toothpick and insert it into the egg. If it comes out clean, it’s done.
- Finally, garnish with thinly sliced scallions. Add a few drops of soy sauce and sesame oil on top before serving.
