
Chinese Comfort Food - Steamed Fish

Ingredients:
- 1 whole Fresh white fish (like sea bass or halibut)
- 1 thumb-sized piece Ginger
- 2 stalks Spring onions
- 2 tablespoons Chinese cooking wine (Shaoxing wine)
- 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil
- Handful na Fresh coriander
Instructions:
- 1. Cut the ginger and spring onions into fine strips.
- 2. In a bowl, mix the cooking wine, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil together.
- 3. Clean the fish and make some diagonal cuts on both sides of the fish.
- 4. Place the fish on a big plate or steaming dish, and scatter half of the ginger and spring onions on it.
- 5. Pour the sauce you mixed from the bowl over the fish evenly.
- 6. Leave the fish to marinate for 15 minutes.
- 7. Pour water into a steamer or a big wok, place the dish into the steamer/wok, turn the heat to high and steam for 10-12 minutes.
- 8. When it's ready, heat the vegetable oil in a small pan until hot, then pour it over the fish.
- 9. Scatter the remaining ginger, spring onions and fresh coriander on top of the fish.
- 10. Serve this delicious Comfort Chinese Steamed Fish immediately.
