Chinese Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Beef sirloin
  • 2 cups Broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions:

  1. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and brown sugar.
  3. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the broccoli and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until it's just tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry. Stir this into the pan.
  6. Pour the soy sauce mixture into the pan and stir everything together. Cook for another minute, until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Serve the stir-fry hot, with brown rice if desired.
