Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams Boneless chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 large Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 cup Canned tomato puree
  • 1/4 cup Yoghurt
  • 2 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • to taste Salt
  • for garnish Fresh coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in yoghurt, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil and fry the chicken pieces until they are half cooked. Remove them and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if necessary. Sauté the onions until translucent. Add the ginger and garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add the tomato puree and the garam masala. Cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Add the half-cooked chicken to the pan. Cover and cook on low heat until the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
