Chicken Involtini with Provolone and Basil

Ingredients:

  • 4 Whole Boneless chicken breasts
  • 100 grams Provolone cheese
  • 8 Whole Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • to taste Extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 100 ml White wine

Instructions:

  1. First, being by preheating your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Prepare the chicken breasts by cutting a pocket into each one. Be careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. Inside each pocket, stuff with roughly chopped provolone cheese and fresh basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Secure the chicken breast with toothpicks to keep them closed while cooking.
  5. In a large oven-proof pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the crushed garlic and cook until it becomes aromatic.
  6. Add the chicken breasts to the pan and sear on both sides until golden brown.
  7. Pour the white wine over the chicken, then place the whole pan into the preheated oven.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.
  9. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Don't forget to remove the toothpicks!
  10. Serve with your favorite side dish and enjoy your exotic Italian dinner!
