Cheesy American Rice Balls

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Rice
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 unit Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • for frying Vegetable Oil

Instructions:

  1. 1. Cook the rice as per package instructions and allow it to cool. You should have about four cups of cooked rice.
  2. 2. Beat the eggs in a bowl, and add the cooled rice, grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. 3. Take one tablespoon of the mixture, roll into a ball, and then roll the ball in breadcrumbs.
  4. 4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Test the oil by dropping a breadcrumb into it. If it sizzles, it is ready for frying.
  5. 5. Fry the rice balls in batches, being careful not to crowd the pan. Fry until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes each side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. 6. Serve the cheesy rice balls hot with a side of marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
