Chana Masala

Ingredients:

  • 2 Can of chickpeas
  • 1 large Onion
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 2 inch piece Fresh ginger
  • 1 Can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 handful Fresh coriander
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook for about a minute until they start to pop.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion to the pan and sauté until it starts to brown, then add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan. Stir continuously for another minute.
  3. Add the ground coriander, turmeric, and chili powder to the pan and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, and add salt. Turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Drain the chickpeas and add them to the pan. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the garam masala and fresh coriander. Serve hot.
