Bruschetta al Pomodoro

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole French baguette
  • 2 heads Garlic cloves, peeled
  • 4 medium-size Ripe Tomatoes
  • as needed Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 5 leaves Freshly chopped basil leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Slice baguette diagonally into 1-inch-thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet
  2. In a preheated oven at 450 F, toast the slices until they're golden brown. This should take about 5 minutes
  3. Rub looking surface each toasted bread slice with a garlic clove
  4. Chop the tomatoes and mix them with a little salt, black pepper, and chopped basil
  5. Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice of bread and drizzle with olive oil before serving
