
Beef Sukiyaki - Japanese Comfort Food

Ingredients:
- 500 grams Thinly sliced beef
- 1/2 cup Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Mirin
- 1/4 cup Sake
- 4 stalks Spring onions
- 1 block Tofu
- 8 pieces Shiitake mushrooms
- 4 bundles Udon noodles
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
Instructions:
- First, in a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sugar, mirin, and sake to make the sukiyaki sauce.
- Cut the spring onions into 2-inch long pieces. Slice the tofu into 1-inch thick pieces. Remove the stems from the shiitake mushrooms.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add the vegetable oil. Add the beef and cook until lightly browned.
- Add the sukiyaki sauce to the pan and add the spring onions, tofu, and shiitake mushrooms.
- Allow everything to simmer together for about 10 minutes, then add the udon noodles.
- Cover the pan and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
- Serve the Beef Sukiyaki hot, garnished with some sesame seeds if desired. Remember to enjoy this comforting dish with some steamed rice!
