Beef Stir Fry - Chinese Main Course

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin steak
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 small bell peppers
  • 4 stalks spring onions

Instructions:

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch. Add the beef and marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the beef and stir-fry until no longer pink.
  6. Add the broccoli, carrot, bell peppers and spring onions. Stir-fry for another 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Serve the stir-fry over steamed rice or noodles.
