Beef Biryani

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 500 grams Beef chunks
  • 2 pieces Onions
  • 2 pieces Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 tablespoons Biryani masala
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 20 pieces Mint leaves
  • to taste Salt
  • 4 cups Water

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice for 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Saute until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the beef chunks to the pan and fry them until they turn brown.
  4. Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute for a few minutes.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and let them cook until they become soft.
  6. Now add the Biryani masala, yogurt, mint leaves, and salt. Mix well and let it simmer for a few minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the spices are well integrated.
  7. Meanwhile, in a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the soaked rice to it and cook until the rice is 70% cooked.
  8. Layer the partially cooked rice over the beef mixture and cover the pot with a lid. Let it cook on low heat for about 20-30 minutes, until the rice is fully cooked and has absorbed the flavors of the beef and spices.
  9. Your beef biryani is ready to be served. Enjoy this comforting Indian dish with raita or your choice of side.
