Servings: 4

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 55 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 5 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • as needed Water
  • 2 medium Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Green Peas
  • 1 inch, grated Ginger
  • 2 Green Chili Peppers
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • to taste Salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and 4 tablespoons of oil. Gradually add water until a dough forms. Knead until smooth, then cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes until tender. Drain, peel, and mash.
  3. In a pan, heat the remaining oil. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle. Then, add the green chili peppers and ginger. Stir for a few seconds.
  4. To the pan, add the mashed potatoes, green peas, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough and divide it into small circles. Place a spoonful of the potato filling on one side of each circle, then fold over to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal.
  6. Place the samosas on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
