Aloo Paratha (Potato Stuffed Indian Flatbread)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Wheat Flour
  • 2 medium Boiled Potato
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Green Chilies
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Fresh Coriander Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seed Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • to taste Salt
  • as required Water
  • as required Ghee (Clarified Butter)

Instructions:

  1. Sift the wheat flour and add water little by little to knead into soft dough. Cover and set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Peel the boiled potatoes and in a bowl, mash them well. Add green chilies, fresh coriander, cumin seed powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well.
  3. Divide the dough into equal small portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  4. Flatten the ball and place a spoonful of potato mixture in the center. Gather the edges of the dough to seal the potato stuffing within.
  5. Flatten the stuffed ball and roll it out carefully into a thick, round flatbread.
  6. Heat a flat pan on medium heat, place the rolled out flatbread on it. Cook on both sides, applying some ghee until golden brown spots appear.
  7. Serve hot with yogurt or pickle of your choice.
